Nehemiah 5

Stop it!

It's that simple and it is what Nehemiah told his people to simply Stop the whining, the complaining, the sinning. 

The people went on strike and they wouldn't continue to build the wall and the main reason was because they couldn't afford to take time off of work.  They had taxes, interest, and the need for food.  However, if they had obeyed God's word in the first place they would have not had these burdens upon them. so Nehemiah confronted them about their sin and basically said STOP IT!

When it comes to us and our relationship with God, we too need to stop it. 
In Christ, we have the power over sin and death and we don't need to sin anymore "Galatians 5:1".  God has equipped us to do this so let's stop sinning and start obeying God's word.
